Join the lab

The Roh lab is looking for postdoc fellows, graduate and undergraduate students, technicians.  If you are passionate about science, fearless to learn and self-motivated, the door is open for you. Join us!

The Roh lab offers training in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, epigenomics, and physiology, with the goals to foster all trainees’ skills for research planning, creative and critical thinking and efficient scientific communications.

POSTDOC FELLOWS
This position will perform independent research with the focus on the molecular mechanisms that control adipocyte cellular plasticity using cell culture and mouse models as well as epigenomics methods. Postdoc fellows will also develop their own ideas and projects to pursue for their future research career.

This position requires a PhD or equivalent degree in molecular biology, biochemistry or genetics from an accredited institution. Standard wet lab techniques, such as DNA/RNA/protein isolation and analysis, plasmid cloning and cell culture, are required. Experience in metabolism research involving mouse handling and physiological studies will be preferred, but not required. Individuals with strong backgrounds in different research areas are also encouraged to apply.

Applicants interested in a position should contact Dr. Roh (hyunroh@iu.edu) and provide a CV and letter describing their research experiences and career goals.

GRADUATE STUDENTS
We always welcome enthusiastic and motivated students.
Ph.D. students will perform independent research under the professor's mentorship on various topics related to cellular plasticity and metabolism. If you are a student from Indiana BioMedical Gateway (IBMG) program at IUSM looking for a rotation, contact Dr. Roh (hyunroh@iu.edu).

Master students will perform independent research or collaborate with postdoc fellows and Ph.D. students. If you are looking for a lab for your thesis research, contact Dr. Roh (hyunroh@iu.edu).

If you are a prospective graduate student interested in working in the Roh lab, you should apply to the IBMG program at IUSM. Contact Dr. Roh (hyunroh@iu.edu) for consultation.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
We love to have undergraduate students bringing in energy and creativity.
Undergrad students will learn cutting-edge biomedical research and work on small independent and/or collaborative projects. If you are looking for research experience, contact Dr. Roh (hyunroh@iu.edu).

TECHNICIANS
We want technicians who make our research move forward.
Technicians will assist research led by postdoc fellows and students but also can work on independent projects. If you are looking for a research lab for your gap years before going to medical school or graduate school, contact Dr. Roh.
We also welcome senior technicians equipped with mastery skills.
